Professional development

One of our main aims at King’s is to foster life-long learning for all our staff. With this is in mind we use the NHS Knowledge and Skills Framework (KSF) for all our employees.

As part of this framework we offer a full programme of continuing professional development (CPD) which benefits greatly from our partnerships with a number of educational and research institutions and a network of other acute trusts.

The framework also helps you to identify your needs through a Personal Development Plan and appraisals with your line manager, clinical supervisor and/or educational lead. Training must be supported by your line manager and be relevant to the needs of your service and/or department.

As a King’s employee, you are also eligible to take part in training and development provided by King’s Health Partners.

If you need financial support for extended training, a range of grants and bursaries is available.
