Trainee pharmacists
Trainee pharmacists are recruited using the national recruitment system called Oriel.
We currently offer multiple programs. More details are in our Trainee pharmacist information pack.
Junior pharmacists
The Trust works in partnership to offer Structured Training and Education for Pharmacists (STEP) – a 3-year post-registration training programme for recently qualified pharmacists working with:
- King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
- Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust
- Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust
About STEP
STEP is a post-registration foundation programme designed to enhance the role of registered hospital pharmacists. It offers a wide variety of experiences and provides you with a platform to expand your current knowledge and develop your skills to become an expert in medicines.
The STEP programme is an experiential foundation training programme for recently qualified pharmacists working in the hospitals within King’s Health Partners. The partners in this programme are King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, and the Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals, along with Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust as an affiliate. The programme is set over three years and you will have the opportunity to gain experience at all three Trusts.
