Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education

We are one of the top teaching Trusts in the UK and a leading provider of Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education (PGMDE). Situated in South East London, the Trust serves a large and diverse local population and provides regional tertiary care services across many specialties. We currently have more than 700 doctors and dentists in training.

The PGMDE team is the first port of call for any queries about training or education for junior doctors. We are always on hand to assist and answer any questions.

“Our priority is to ensure the provision of the best education and training for all postgraduate doctors, dentists and consultants at King’s. We do this by working collaboratively with external bodies and professionals across the Trust.”

TJ Lasoye, Director of Medical Education

Why train at King’s?

At King’s you can enjoy all the benefits of learning at an NHS Foundation Trust that has a reputation worldwide for the quality of care, research and education it provides. King’s is also a leading centre for many of the main specialties, such as liver, cardiology and neurosciences.

We provide a supportive learning environment to help you get the most out of your time here. We also help you to take time out and relax at our well-equipped Doctor’s Mess where you can socialise with fellow doctors.

The clinical and educational supervision and training we provide ensures we have a highly skilled workforce striving to provide excellent patient care.

2. Provide our colleagues across the Trust with appropriate support to address the challenges identified in trainee feedback in some specialties.

3. Complete the implementation of MBBS Curriculum 2020 in a way that maintains, and continuously improves on, current high levels of student satisfaction.

4. Develop leadership development programmes for consultants, clinical leads and clinical directors in conjunction with the Medical Director’s Office.
