Parking

There is no longer general public car parking at King’s College Hospital due to the construction of the Willowfield Building, our outpatient facility.

To make sure that patients and visitors attending the hospital site can do so safely, we have introduced additional drop off and collection zones. The zones are located on Bessemer Road near to the entrances at the Hambleden Wing. People are able to leave cars unattended for a short time – between ten minutes to two hours dependent on zone – while they chaperone their relative or friend to an appointment. Visitors can also use the drop off and collection zones as required, but spaces are limited.

Once you have arrived at the hospital, our staff volunteer teams will be able to support you from the help desk and guide you to where you need to be.

People with valid Blue Badge permits can still park for free, maximum stay 4 hours. There are spaces for motorbikes that are also free to park.

We recommend you use public transport to get to the hospital whenever possible. You may need to plan your travel further in advance. Please see our public transport section.

Please refer to our frequently asked questions for more information.

Patient transport

Our patient transport service is available for patients who cannot travel to or from our hospitals using any other method of transport because of their medical or mobility condition, or because their medical condition would otherwise worsen. For more information, and to find out if you are eligible for the service, please visit our help with travel page.

Blue Badge holders

People with valid Blue Badge permits can still to park for free. There are around 20 marked parking spaces across the site for drivers who are registered disabled and have a valid Blue Badge. There is no charge for parking in these spaces, maximum waiting time is 4 hours.

Blue Badge holders can also park in any marked public bay for free when on site, as a patient or visitor.

Cycling

There are cycle racks and storage points across the site that can be used by patients and visitors.

E-bikes parking is available behind the Willowfield Building. You can collect or drop off e-bikes from the main providers, including Lime, Tier and Human Forest.

Please secure bikes with a high-quality lock.

Motorbikes

Parking for motorbikes or mopeds at King’s is limited. There are about 30 ground anchors on Bessemer Road for use by patients, visitors and staff. There is no charge for using them.
