Free prescriptions

If you have cancer or are having cancer treatment, you are eligible for free NHS prescriptions.

To claim free prescriptions, you need to apply for a medical exemption certificate. This last for five years and can be renewed if you are still eligible.

Ask your GP or cancer team about how to apply for free prescriptions. The Macmillan Cancer Support website also has more information on help with prescription costs.
