Urogynaecology

What we do

We assess patients with lower urinary tract conditions, prolapse and associated problems such as incontinence. We also advise patients on stress incontinence; overactive bladder; intermittent self-catheterisation; pelvic floor therapy; bladder retraining; and continence and prolapse surgery.

We are at the forefront of research into all areas of urogynaecology, so our patients benefit from the latest surgical and drug treatments. We offer a wide range of investigations and carry out certain surgery as a day case or outpatient procedure.

The services we provide include:

  • one-stop assessment, investigation and treatment planning clinics
  • specialist care for older people through our Urodynamic Clinic for the Assessment and Review of the Elderly (UCARE)
  • follow-up urogynaecology
  • incontinence and prolapse surgery
  • drug therapy
  • treatment of overactive bladder using percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation
  • perineal clinics
  • pessary clinics
  • catheter care
