Neurosurgery

What we do

We are a major regional centre for neurosurgery. We treat adults and children who live in South East London and Kent, and people from across the UK and Europe are referred to us for specialist care and treatment.

Part of the neurosciences department, our team includes neurosurgeons, physiotherapists, pain relief doctors, neuroradiologists, clinical nurse specialists, and therapists. They combine clinical expertise with state-of-the-art facilities to ensure our patients receive the very best care and treatment. We run specialised multidisciplinary clinics as well as children’s (paediatric) clinics.

We have a number of dedicated neurosurgery sub-specialties, including:

Inter-hospital transfers

Many patients with neurological problems can be treated at their local hospital. However, some patients need specialised investigation and treatment at a regional neuroscience centre, such as King’s.
If you need to be transferred to King’s, a team of doctors, nurses, and bed co-ordinators will oversee this. For more information see the ‘Inter-hospital transfer process (neuroscience)’ leaflet, below.
