Molecular Neuropathology Service
The Molecular Neuropathology Laboratory is the designated laboratory within the South East Genomics Laboratory Hub (SEGLH) offering molecular analysis of neurological malignancies as part of the NHSE Genomics Medicine Service.
The laboratory carries out approximately 800 molecular neuropathology tests per year. These include DNA and RNA testing of common brain tumour prognostic markers such as MGMT promoter methylation status and methylation array.
Molecular neuropathology is a UKAS accredited medical laboratory (No. 28984) accredited to ISO 15189:2022 for the tests listed in the schedule of accreditation on the UKAS website.

Sample delivery
Samples must be sent to the department according to the packaging and transport requirements specified in the department user guides.
