Getting to King's by public transport

King's is well served by overground train services and the London bus network and is located in Zone 2. As part of our commitment to reducing carbon emissions and traffic congestion in the area, and because of the limited parking in the area, we encourage people to use public transport to get to King's whenever possible.

Buses

King's is served by the following bus routes:

35, 40, 42, 45, 68, 176 (24-hour), 185, 345 (24-hour), 468, 484, N35, N68

You can also use these routes to travel to King's from our nearest London Underground Stations: Oval, Brixton and Elephant and Castle.

Trains

Denmark Hill

King’s is about five minutes’ walk from Denmark Hill train station. The station is served by regular, direct rail links to central London at Blackfriars, London Bridge, Victoria and St Pancras International as well as to principal stops in south-east London such as Bromley South, Catford, Lewisham and Peckham Rye.

Please note: the station is being refurbished to make it easier for everyone to use, something for which King’s has campaigned for several years. This includes installing a new footbridge and lifts to all four platforms. There is currently a temporary footbridge in place, with the improvements scheduled to be completed by summer 2012. Loughborough Junction

King’s is about 12 minutes’ walk from Loughborough Junction. Loughborough Junction is served by trains to London Bridge, St Pancras International, Wimbledon and Elephant and Castle. Bus routes 35, 45 and 345 run from the station to the hospital.

Accessibility

There is currently no wheelchair access to Denmark Hill station. If you cannot use stairs, please contact South Eastern Assisted Travel Service on 0800 783 4524 24 hours in advance. They will make arrangements for you to complete your journey by taxi from a nearby step-free station.

Loughborough Junction has about 30 steps from the platforms. If you are disabled, please contact First Capital Connect Assisted Travel Service on 0800 058 2844 24 hours before your journey to request assistance.

Tube

There are no Tube stations in Denmark Hill. But you may find it easier to travel to the Tube stations at Oval, Brixton or Elephant and Castle and continue your journey by bus.
