Orthodontics
What we do
Orthodontics is a type of dentistry concerned with the growth of your teeth, jaw and face. Treatment aims to improve the appearance, position and function of crooked or abnormally arranged teeth.
We provide a highly specialised orthodontic service for adults and children, many of whom have complex treatment needs. We plan multidisciplinary care with maxillofacial (jaw and face) surgeons, restorative dentists and paediatric colleagues.
The conditions we treat include:
- problems with the development of the teeth and jaws in children
- severely crowded and unerupted teeth
- missing teeth
- incorrect bites
- severe facial disproportion in adults.
Problems with your braces
King’s patients who are experiencing problems with their braces (previously put on here at King’s), can contact the Main Reception to arrange an emergency appointment on 020 3299 3055.
Preparing for your appointment
You must be referred by your GP or dentist, and you must be registered with a dentist who has agreed to provide you with routine dental care while you are having specialist orthodontic treatment. You must have healthy teeth and gums and good oral hygiene.
