Biography

Dr Diana Wei is a consultant neurologist working in King’s College Hospital and Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in London.

She qualified at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, and her specialist neurologist training spanned across the Southwest of England, London and Auckland, New Zealand.

Her research background includes a PhD at King’s College London on the subject of cluster headache with Professor Peter Goadsby. This included using functional MRI to further the understanding of what happens during a cluster headache attack and studying all the symptoms beyond pain during a cluster headache attack.

Dr Wei’s main focus is seeing patients with migraine, cluster headache and rarer types of headache and providing personalised treatments, including greater occipital nerve blocks and Botox for chronic migraine. She has a special interest in transitioning young people from paediatric to adult services and set up the King’s Health Partner Transition Headache Clinic, working closely with colleagues at Great Ormond Street Hospital. She is a member of the British Association for the Study of Headache (BASH) and International Headache Society (IHS) and is in the IHS Cluster Headache Trial guideline subcommittee.
