Vaccine roll-out at King’s College Hospital

01 February 2021 - King's College Hospital is inviting patients and other priority groups to take up the offer of a vaccine.

As part of the national roll-out of the COVID-19 vaccination, King’s College Hospital is inviting patients and other priority groups to take up the offer of a vaccine. The priority groups are made up of those people who have been identified as most at risk of catching COVID-19.

The coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine will give you the best protection against coronavirus. The vaccine is an injection and has been tested to make sure it is safe and effective. You will need two injections of the vaccine, which will be given to you between 3 and 12 weeks apart.

You will receive a text message from King’s College Hospital inviting you to book your appointment. The text will ask you to send an email to an email address that ends with @nhs.net. This is a secure email address and not a scam. In line with national guidance, we will be working through the priority groups to ensure as many people as possible are protected. We are not currently vaccinating anyone under the age of 18.

Second doses
The national strategy is to give as many people on the priority lists as possible a first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

This will allow more people to get a good level of protection against coronavirus more quickly.

Your appointment for the second dose of the vaccine will be up to 12 weeks after your first dose.

If we have rescheduled your original second dose appointment, please accept your new appointment. This will ensure you are fully protected against COVID-19 after 12 weeks.
