Tribute to Lord Bob Kerslake

03 July 2023 - Everyone at King’s was deeply saddened to learn of the death of former Trust Chair Lord Bob Kerslake

Lord Kerslake served as Chair of the Trust from 2015 to 2017, and the thoughts of colleagues at the Trust are with his family and friends today.

Professor Clive Kay, Chief Executive of the Trust, said:

“My sympathies and those of colleagues at King’s go out to Bob’s family.

“I know from speaking to staff who worked with him that Bob cared passionately about King’s, and the NHS, and this was clear in his regular interactions with colleagues across the Trust. He will be missed.”

Dr Malcolm Tunnicliff, Clinical Director for Major Trauma at King’s, also shared this tribute over the weekend:

“Very sad to hear of the death of Lord Kerslake. Always approachable, engaged and appreciated by the team at King’s and a great supporter of our major trauma services. RIP.”

Gail Scott-Spicer, Chair of King’s College Hospital Charity, added:

“Very sad to hear of the passing of Lord Bob Kerslake. He was a strong supporter of our charity as Chair of King’s and after. He played a major part in raising over £1m for the new Critical Care Unit. Rest in peace.”
