November’s New Profile Pic 2025
01 November 2025 - Every month, a different member of staff will be our #NewProfilePic on social media.
This November, we’re featuring Loizos Georgiou, DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis) and Anticoagulation Clinical Nurse Specialist in Thrombosis at Princess Royal University Hospital, as our New Profile Pic.
Loizos has been part of the King’s family for an incredible 10 years, providing expert, compassionate care to patients every day. He said: “I love the supportive team spirit and the opportunity to make a real difference in patients’ recovery journeys.”
To find out more about his work and what keeps him motivated, we asked:
• What does your role consist of?
“I assess, treat, and support patients with blood clots, helping them manage anticoagulant therapy safely while providing education and reassurance about their condition.”
• What makes your role special to you and the patients you care for?
“Every patient’s story is unique, and being able to guide and reassure them through sometimes worrying diagnoses makes my work deeply meaningful.”
• A special moment you’ve experienced at work:
“Supporting a patient who was very anxious about treatment, then later hearing how confident and well they felt. It reminded me how powerful simple reassurance can be.”
• How do you support families through challenging moments?
“By listening, explaining clearly and offering reassurance so families feel informed, involved and supported throughout their care.”
• Something interesting people might not know about your role:
“We work beyond the hospital too, coordinating with GPs and community teams to ensure patients stay safe after discharge.”
