#NewProfilePic for June 2024

01 June 2024 - Every month, a different member of staff will be our #NewProfilePic on social media

This June, our #NewProfilePic features Hannah Brelsford, a Maternity Support Worker at the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH). Hannah marks her two years at King’s this August!

Hannah said: “I love my job as I get to care for women and their families during such a special time in their lives, looking after their babies.”

We spoke to Hannah about her role and what she finds fulfilling.

What makes your role special to you and the patients you care for?

“My role is special as I can work with midwives in supporting them with caring for families and watching new life get brought into the world. It is such a rewarding job, and I feel so lucky to work alongside my amazing colleagues.”

Any special moments that you’ve experienced at work?

“I have been fortunate enough to see some amazing births, especially a few at the Oasis Birth Centre which have involved water deliveries. They have all been so special, and I love supporting women and their partners, providing safe and efficient care of a high standard.”

Is there anything interesting about your role at King’s that people may not have known?

“As a maternity support worker, I currently rotate around all areas of maternity at the PRUH. I’m currently at Oasis Birth Centre, but you may also see me in the Maternity Ward or the Labour Ward.”
