King’s nurse wins global nursing award

22 September 2026 - Dr Agimol Pradeep BEM has received global recognition

Dr Agimol Pradeep BEM, Senior Liver Recipient Transplant Coordinator at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, (pictured centre) has been awarded the Aster Guardians Global Nursing Award 2026, in recognition of her campaigning work to improve awareness of organ and stem-cell donation.

Dr Pradeep was announced as the global winner at a recent awards ceremony in Kochi, India. More than 134,000 nurses from 214 countries were entered into the awards, which recognise exceptional nurses across the world.

Dr Pradeep was nominated in recognition of her tireless dedication over the last decade to promoting organ and stem cell donation through voluntary work. On winning the award, Dr Pradeep said: “I am deeply honoured to receive the Aster Guardians Global Nursing Award. I hope to use this opportunity to expand organ and stem cell donation, while empowering nurses and strengthening the global nursing workforce to drive lasting change.

“Furthermore, to receive this award in my birth land of Keralam in India was really special. My parents still live there and to know that they saw me win was a proud moment. This week is Organ Donation Week, and I am pleased to be back at work, working with my fantastic colleagues, to raise awareness and pay tribute to everyone who has transformed lives through organ and stem cell donation.”

Helen Fletcher, Deputy Chief Nurse at King’s, added: “Congratulations to Agi on this remarkable achievement. The award is recognition of not only her exceptional clinical skills but also her dedication and passion for raising awareness about organ donation. Agi is an inspiration to nurses all over the world and we are incredibly proud she is a member of Team King’s.”
