King’s appoints Site Chief Executive for PRUH & South Sites

01 June 2020 - Jonathan Lofthouse has been appointed permanent Site Chief Executive for the Princess Royal University Hospital and South Sites.

Jonathan Lofthouse has been appointed as the permanent Site Chief Executive for the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) and South Sites. As a member of the Trust’s Executive team and Board, he will report to Professor Clive Kay, Group Chief Executive for King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

“I am extremely pleased that I will continue to lead the teams across the PRUH and South Sites,” commented Jonathan Lofthouse. “Since I joined at the start of the year, I have been impressed by their determination to deliver high quality and compassionate care to the communities that we serve, and proud of their collective response to the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Having joined as Interim Site Chief Executive in February 2020, he will continue to be responsible for the overall management of the PRUH, Orpington Hospital and the services delivered at Beckenham Beacon and Queen Mary’s Hospital (Sidcup). With accountability for the PRUH and South Sites strategy, he will be responsible for ensuring that patient care and clinical services are safe, delivered to the highest standards, and balanced with the efficient use of resources. He will also be responsible for the Trust’s relationship with One Bromley. As a member of the Executive Team, Jonathan will also share responsibility for the overall strategic direction and management of the Trust.

Previously, Jonathan has held a number of senior leadership and operational roles within the NHS. Most recently, he was Director of Improvement at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust but has also worked for The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust, Barts Health NHS Trust and NHS Grampian.

“I would like to congratulate Jonathan for his leadership of the PRUH and South Sites since he first joined in February this year,” added Clive Kay. “Not only has he consistently demonstrated a commitment to safe patient care and improving the standards of our services, but he has shown great leadership of and support to our staff during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
