Temporary disruption to some services at Beckenham Beacon
11 September 2026 - Several services have been closed today (11 September), and until further notice.
Due to a burst water pipe on the ground floor of Beckenham Beacon, several services have been closed today (11 September), and until further notice.
Unfortunately, some patients with appointments scheduled for today will need to be re-scheduled, and these patients are being contacted directly by members of hospital staff. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.
However, if you have an appointment today and are not contacted, please attend as scheduled, as some parts of the building are unaffected.
Patients attending appointments on the first floor of the building should access the building via the main reception, where the lifts remain operational. No other lifts in the building are currently available for use.
Urgent Care Centre at Beckenham Beacon
The Urgent Care Centre (UCC) at Beckenham Beacon remains open.
Outpatient pharmacy
The outpatient pharmacy at Beckenham Beacon is also closed. Patients can collect their prescriptions from the outpatient pharmacy at Princess Royal University Hospital (Dispensary, South Wing, Level 1, opposite the restaurant). The pharmacy will be open until 5pm today (11 September) and from 9am to 2pm over the weekend.
Engineers are on site and working to restore services at Beckenham Beacon as quickly and safely as possible. At this stage, it is likely that disruption to some services will continue until at least Monday, although we will provide further updates as soon as more information becomes available.
We would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, and thank patients and visitors for their patience and understanding.
