King’s short-listed for HSJ Awards

11 August 2026 - Team King’s has been short-listed for four awards at the upcoming Health Service Journal (HSJ) Awards

The HSJ Awards are a national celebration of excellence in healthcare. They recognise and reward outstanding contributions, game-changing innovations, and exceptional leadership from across the NHS.

King’s has been short-listed for:

  • NHS Communications Initiative of the Year Award: our Corporate Communications team have been short-listed for their work to support the Trust’s to reduce the volume of unnecessary testing requested by clinical teams, which has been led by our Transformation and Pathology teams. Reducing unnecessary testing can improve patient safety and patient experience, as well as free up more time for our clinicians to spend on patient care.
  • Performance Recovery Award: short-listed for our Outpatients Transformation programme, which has a huge ambition to redesign care around a “hospital without walls” model that is supporting our goals to offer more appointments, reduce non-attendance of appointments and enable more patients to access their healthcare information and book appointments online.

The Trust has been short-listed alongside other NHS providers for:

  • Provider Collaboration of the Year Award: King’s is short-listed alongside the South East London Integrated Care System, Communitas Clinics, Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust and Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust for the South East London ENT Partnership project. The project is a system-wide collaboration delivering integrated, patient-centred care at scale.
  • Mental Health Innovation of the Year Award: the Trust is short-listed for our role in the Pan London Major Trauma Psychology Network. King’s is short-listed along with NHS England London, West London Trust, St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Barts Health NHS Trust and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
