Matthew Trainer has today (Monday, 6 July) joined the Trust as our new Chief Executive.
A big welcome to Matthew, who will be spending his first week meeting our teams, visiting our hospital sites, and talking to patients who use our services.
Matthew joins us from Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust, prior to which he was Chief Executive of Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust.
Matthew has been part of Team King’s before, having been Managing Director of the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) earlier in his career.
Matthew said: “I am delighted to be back, and it is a huge honour to have joined King’s as Chief Executive. King’s is widely respected for its brilliant people and fantastic care, and I am really looking forward to meeting my new colleagues, and talking to the people who rely on the care they provide.”
Sir David Behan, Chair of the Trust, said: “Matthew has deep experience and a proven track record of delivery and improvement.
“He cares passionately about the NHS, supporting our staff, and delivering high quality care for the diverse communities that we serve.”
