New Non-Executive Directors join King’s
15 January 2026 - King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has appointed three new Non-Executive Directors to its Board.
Dr Jane Fryer, Sheena Mackay and Professor Anthony Schapira will all take up their roles as Non-Executive Directors at King’s in the coming weeks after their appointments were confirmed by the Trust’s Council of Governors.
Dr Jane Fryer has worked as a GP in south east London for over 30 years, and has also held a number of senior leadership positions within the NHS, most recently as Deputy Medical Director for NHS England (London region). She is also currently regional Medical Director for Systems Improvement and Professional Standards.

Sheena Mackay has led global HR functions for over 20 years across a range of FTSE 100 and 250 companies, most recently for Smiths Group plc and previously for Aggreko plc, BBA Aviation plc and SSL International plc (Reckitt Benckiser plc). She is now a Non-Executive Director on the Boards of Porvair plc and Lords Group Trading plc.

Sheena Mackay
Professor Anthony Schapira is Head of Clinical and Movement Neurosciences at University College London, and Professor of Neurology at the National Hospital, Queen Square and the Royal Free Hospital. He is also a Non-Executive Director and Vice-Chair of the Board at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust. He has held Non-Executive Director roles on the Boards of the Royal Free (2009 to 2020) and Oxford University Hospitals (2019 to 2025).

In other Trust Board changes, Professor Yvonne Doyle finished her term as Non-Executive Director at King’s in autumn 2025, and Jane Bailey stepped-down as a Non-Executive Director at the Trust at the end of December last year, so enabling her to focus on her role as Chair of South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.
