Biography
Dr Emmanuel Androulakis is an internationally recognised Consultant Cardiologist and an academic in renowned UK (London) and international postgraduate programmes. He is a specialist in genetic (familial) heart muscle conditions (cardiomyopathy), sports cardiology, preventive cardiology and multimodality cardiovascular imaging.
Following his PhD in genetics and two MSc degrees (Sports Cardiology and Health Economics and Management), his extensive expertise has been honed through years of dedicated practice and comprehensive training in the largest London centres by world leaders in the field. This rigorous program encompassed fellowships in Inherited Cardiac Conditions and Cardiomyopathy as well as Advanced Cardiac Multimodality Imaging.
Dr Androulakis is a board member of the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI) and works collaboratively with the Society of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (SCMR) and European Association of Preventive Cardiology (EAPC). He has been elected as one of the EACVI Leaders of Tomorrow Programme for 2022-2024 and has been elected to serve the Scientific Initiative Committee of EACVI since 2022. He holds the esteemed position of honorary Senior Lecturer at the renowned MSc in Sports Cardiology of St George’s University London where he co-leads the module ‘Practice in Cardiovascular Evaluation’ and he is a Senior Lecturer at King’s College London, School of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Medicine & Sciences.
He is a Consultant Cardiologist at King’s College Hospital, London. He has worked for several years at the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young which supports families affected by sudden cardiac death and has screened more than 30,000 young individuals per year for heart disease. He is currently credited with more than 120 peer-reviewed high-impact publications. He regularly presents as an expert speaker at national and international conferences.
