King’s neonatal department receives major donation from Bukhman Philanthropies

08 July 2025 - The generous donation will enhance care for smallest patients

The neonatal department at King’s College Hospital has received a £500,000 donation from Bukhman Philanthropies to give the youngest patients in the hospital the very best start in life.

The generous gift will support King’s neonatal team to carry out vital research, invest in cutting-edge equipment, and deliver world-class care to some of the tiniest and most vulnerable patients.

Led by Professor Anne Greenough, the specialist team at King’s is working at the forefront of neonatal medicine, driving forward research and turning discoveries into real-world care that improves outcomes for babies and mothers.

The gift will also enable the hospital to invest in the tools and training clinical teams need to deliver the highest standard of care, whether through new equipment, enhanced education, or faster translation of research into practice.

Daria Bukhman, Founder of Bukhman Philanthropies, said: “Bukhman Philanthropies is proud to support the vital work that the King’s team is doing.

“We strongly believe in the power of research to increase our understanding of current challenges in neonatal health and are committed to supporting better outcomes for babies and mothers worldwide.”

Anne Greenough, Professor of Neonatology at King’s, said: “Bukhman Philanthropies’ gift is transformative, and we are proud to partner with them in their drive to improve neonatal and maternal health worldwide. Their support will enable my team to expedite important research and allow higher quality training with highly realistic simulation equipment. Quite simply, their gift will lead to better outcomes for the most vulnerable babies in our care, now and for many years to come.”
