‘Outstanding’ staff members recognised with RCN awards
20 May 2025 - Two members of Team King’s have been announced winners of the prestigious awards

Dr Felicia Kwaku OBE, Associate Director of Nursing, and Tracie Culpitt, Health and Wellbeing Team Leader, at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, have both been recognised with a 2025 Royal College of Nursing (RCN) award.
The RCN Awards celebrate the extraordinary dedication, skill and passion that nursing colleagues bring to the profession and the RCN. Members are nominated for their unwavering dedication, pioneering work and outstanding contributions.
Felicia has over 35 years’ of nursing experience, advocating for high standards of clinical practice and advocacy for the nursing workforce. Felicia was presented with an RCN Fellowship, an award which recognises innovative individuals who have made an exceptional commitment to advancing the science and practice of nursing, and the improvement of health and patient care.
Felicia said: “It’s an honour to receive an RCN Fellowship, especially to have been nominated by peers. As a clinical leader, I really share in the RCN’s vision when it comes to advancing the nursing profession, and it is a huge achievement to have received this recognition of my contributions to the college and to race equality across the profession.”
Tracie Culpitt was also presented with an Award of Merit in recognition of her work on the RCN’s Professional Nursing Committee, of which she was a founding member. She said: “I do feel truly humbled and grateful to be recognised in this way. Success for me is never a solo journey, so I share this award with all those who have contributed to my growth. I will continue to strive for excellence and inclusion, taking this recognition as motivation to push forward and make an even greater impact for RCN members and colleagues at King’s.”
Tracey Carter, Chief Nurse and Executive Director of Midwifery at King’s College NHS Foundation Trust, added: “These awards celebrate the remarkable achievements of nursing colleagues who do their utmost to ensure patients have exceptional care. We are so proud Felicia and Tracie. They are both fantastic role models, and this recognition for their outstanding efforts is well-deserved.”
