Biography
Dr Daniel van Wamelen is a clinical academic and consultant neurologist specialising in movement disorders. He trained at Leiden University Medical Centre (Leiden, the Netherlands) and completed a fellowship in movement disorders at Radboud University Medical Centre (Nijmegen, the Netherlands) with Prof Bas Bloem. He has worked at King’s College London and King’s College Hospital since 2018.
His clinical and research interests focus on biomarkers and the non-motor aspects, in particular circadian dysregulation, in movement disorders, notably in Huntington’s and Parkinson’s disease. He leads a multidisciplinary research team at King’s College London focusing on movement disorders and the role of imaging techniques in symptom and disease progression in these conditions.
