Our patient transport service is available for patients who cannot travel to or from our hospitals using any other method of transport because of their medical or mobility condition, or because their medical condition would otherwise worsen. All requests for patient transport are assessed on medical need, and all patients must be pre-booked.
To book transport, please advise your patients to contact the Patient Transport Assessment Centre on 020 7188 3888 at least 72 hours before their appointment.
If they ask for an escort, this request will be assessed at the same time.
The centre is open from 9am - 6pm, Monday to Friday. Demand on Monday mornings is usually high, so your patients may wish to avoid this time.
All patients will be contacted by the transport provider, Savoy, up to 24 hours in advance to confirm their appointment.
Patient transport vehicles operate with appropriate staff and equipment. As patients have diverse needs, we provide a range of vehicles such as saloon cars, ambulances with wheelchair-securing facilities, stretcher vehicles and high-dependency units.
