Planned (elective) treatment
This pages gives information about coming hospital care for planned treatment as an inpatient, day case patient, or if you have an outpatient appointment.
Inpatients and day case proceduresWe are carrying out non-urgent inpatient activity and day case surgery as normal, although we are keeping this under regular review.
If you have an appointment for planned surgery, please attend as normal. In the event we need to cancel or postpone your operation, our teams will be in touch with you.
Inpatients coming in for planned treatment will be requested to take lateral flow or PCR tests before they are admitted. Your clinical team will contact you to provide further information.

We are beginning to hold more face-to-face outpatient clinics where necessary and practicable. Video and phone consultations will also continue to take place, to reduce visits to our hospitals.
If you have an appointment coming up, we will contact you about whether it is taking place at the hospital, by phone, or by video.
