Local Care Record
What is the Local Care Record?
The Local Care Record is the portal that allows healthcare professionals, as part of direct patient care, to access patient information from the clinical systems at other acute trusts across South East London. This includes King’s, Guy’s and St Thomas’, Lewisham and Greenwich, the Maudsley, and most GP practices in Southwark, Lambeth and Bromley.
This means relevant information about you can be safely shared between the staff who need it. No matter where you receive care in south east London, the staff looking after you will have the most up-to-date information when they need it.

Keeping your information safe
Protecting your information in the Local Care Record is very important. The confidentiality of the patient and their data is carefully protected and safeguarded every time it is used. Only those healthcare professionals directly involved in your care will be able to access your information in the Local Care Record.
The Local Care Record processes and shares data in accordance with relevant legislation, including the Data Protection Act 2018.
London Care Record
Building on the success of the Local Care Record, the London Care Record was established in 2022. This enables information-sharing across the whole of London.
