Funmi Onamusi will take up the newly-created substantive role

Funmi Onamusi

Funmi Onamusi has been appointed to the newly-created substantive role of Director of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

As a core member of the senior leadership team, and working directly to the Chief Executive, Funmi will have responsibility for accelerating the Trust’s ambitious EDI agenda.

She will also lead the way in inspiring and delivering sustainable cultural change, and ensure King’s is an exemplar in all its people practices.

Funmi joins from global management consultancy EY (formerly Ernst & Young) where she has served as Diversity and Inclusion Lead. In this time she has worked with several large organisations to help them create, monitor and implement their EDI strategies - including a national healthcare organisation and a police service.

Funmi, who will join King’s in June, brings over 18 years’ experience across consulting and industry roles, with further expertise in talent management, leadership development, and change strategy and implementation. She will succeed Claudette Elliott, who has been carrying out the role on an interim basis since last year.
