Beverley Bryant has been appointed as Chief Digital Information Officer for King’s College Hospital and Guy’s and St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trusts. In this joint board level role, she will report to both Dr Clive Kay, Chief Executive of King’s and Ian Abbs, Chief Executive of Guy’s and St. Thomas’.
“I have always believed that delivering patient-centred care through information and technology will complement and enhance the already excellent care provided by clinical teams,” commented Beverley Bryant. “This joint role at two of the leading Trusts in the UK presents an exciting opportunity to make this ambition a reality and transform our relationship with patients.”
Beverley will be responsible for developing and delivering the Digital Strategy for both Trusts and will also be accountable for identifying and managing the information risks and ensuring that both organisations have robust and effective information governance systems and processes which comply with nationally set requirements.
Currently Chief Operating Officer for System C Healthcare, Beverley has previously held a number of senior leadership roles within the NHS. Most recently she was Director of Digital Technology for NHS England/Improvement and previously Director of Performance & Improvement (NHS Leeds/Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust). She has also held senior health-related roles as Managing Director for Capita Health and Chief Information Officer for the Department of Health.
“With digital technology and applications becoming seamlessly integrated into people’s everyday lives, it is critical that King’s ensures that our patients can access their information and our services easily and equitably,” added Clive Kay. “Beverley’s broad and extensive experience at the intersection between healthcare and technology will enable King’s to develop and deliver a digital strategy that will support and enhance our long term plans and benefit both our patients and our staff.”
Beverley will join both Trusts on Monday 30 September 2019.
