King’s Stars – celebrating outstanding patient care

05 September 2018 - How to nominate a member of staff for the Patient Choice Award

King's Stars

Earlier this month, King’s launched a new recognition scheme, King’s Stars, to recognise and celebrate individuals and teams who deliver outstanding patient care and world-leading research, innovation and education.

The first annual staff awards will take place in November at the KIA Oval. The event will celebrate the very best achievements and successes of staff in a range of categories that showcase what makes King’s special and underlines the Trust’s commitment to patient care. In addition, we’ll be celebrating individual’s steadfast commitment to King’s for those who achieved the fantastic milestone of either 25 or 40 years’ service.

The Patient’s Choice Award recognises an individual who has gone the extra mile to provide outstanding patient care. Any patient, member of King’s, relative or visitor may nominate an individual from across our hospitals for the award. Nominations for the award are open until midnight Thursday 27 September.

King’s Stars has been made possible thanks to the generosity of King’s College Hospital Charity. Gail Scott-Spicer, Chief Executive of King’s College Hospital Charity said, “We’re delighted to fund the new King’s Stars that will recognise staff from across the Trust who go above and beyond in providing high quality patient care. It also allows us to acknowledge the contribution of our many volunteers and volunteer fundraisers, who are a key part of the King’s community.”
