Abigail Stapleton has been appointed as Director of Strategy for King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation. Reporting into Chief Executive, Nick Moberly, she will join the Trust in October 2017.
As Director of Strategy for the Trust, Abigail will be responsible for developing and implementing the Trust’s strategic plan as well as maintaining the organisation’s key relationships with King’s Health Partners, STP, AHSC and other external stakeholders including regulators.
“Abigail brings a strong mix of public sector and commercial experience in the field of healthcare to the Trust,” commented Nick Moberly, Chief Executive, King’s College NHS Foundation Trust. “Her previous experience, not only at the NHS Confederation but also her successful tenure at BUPA demonstrate a clear focus on patient outcomes which is central to our mission at King’s.”
Currently Head of Strategy and Development for BUPA UK, Abigail has worked extensively in both the public and private health sectors. In her current role she has been responsible for a broad portfolio including commercial and business development, strategic planning, service development and service improvement. Prior to BUPA, she worked in a strategic consultancy for a range of blue chip organisations, and in public affairs for the NHS Confederation. She holds a MSc in International Health Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Abigail succeeds Trudi Kemp as Director of Strategy. Trudi left the Trust in July 2017.
