Having a baby?

26 April 2012 - Watch our 12-minute video of our maternity department to find out what it is like to give birth at King’s.

Mum looking at newborn baby

For many years King’s has offered weekly tours of the department and its facilities to pregnant women and their partners – to help them to understand what to expect when they come to have their baby. However King’s became such a popular choice for women and the department became so busy, that very often the tours were curtailed or had to be cancelled.

The new Guide to King’s Maternity Services video gives access to all areas of the department including the theatres and introduces members of staff, explaining their roles and hearing what they have to say about working at King’s. Hear how new mums and their partners coped during labour – what worked well and what didn’t – and what they think about the hospital and staff.

You can watch the video on YouTube. Captions are provided on the video and these can be translated if required. If you do not have internet access, please contact one of our community midwives to borrow a DVD.
