NHS e-Referral (e-RS)

e-RS is the national electronic referral service that allows:

  • GPs to refer to our Indirectly Bookable Services (IBS) or book into our Directly Bookable Services (DBS).
  • Patients to choose their initial hospital or clinic appointment, and book it on the spot in their GP surgery or later on the phone, by calling King's Outpatient Appointments Centre on 020 3299 1919 or the National Appointments Line on 0345 608 8888.

Please attach a referral letter or the relevant referral form, if one is available. Forms can be downloaded from the GP referral forms page or the individual service pages.

Paper Switch Off: e-RS only referral

We are introducing e-RS-only referral for all GP referrals to consultant-led clinics at Denmark Hill. This is a phased project that will ensure compliance with the Standard Contract for 2018/19.

Specialties and dates

By the end of July 2018, GP referrals to consultant-led clinics will only be accepted via e-RS. GP referrals made in others ways, including by email, will be returned and the referral will need to be made via e-RS. If no capacity is available for the clinic, use the ‘Defer to Provider’ option.
