Maternity Services Liaison Committee

Midwife with mother and her new baby

Make a difference: come and join the Maternity Services Liaison Committee (MSLC) at King's, and help us improve maternity care and facilities for parents and babies.

The MSLC is a group that includes mums as well as midwives, doctors and other health professionals. We meet about every two months on a Thursday, from 12.30-2.30pm. We provide sandwiches and refreshments and can help with travel costs and childcare expenses. Any mum who has had a baby at King's or at home in the last five years can join. We are keen to reflect the diverse community that we serve and welcome members from all different backgrounds.

If you cannot always make our meetings, we would still like to hear from you. You can come along to a meeting when you can make it, or you can simply email us your story, telling us what you thought of your care, what we did well and where we can improve things.

Since its launch, the MSLC at King’s has helped to:

  • Improve breast feeding support by providing workshops and drop-in centres.
  • Increase mums' access to birthing pools.

If you are interested in joining us or would simply like to share your views and experiences with us, contact our Head of Midwifery, tel 020 3299 8127.
