The King's College Hospital Charity is an independent charity registered with the Charity Commission (Charity Commission No 1165593).
The charity’s mission is to: "Assist and support the King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust – and, where considered appropriate, other bodies relating to the NHS in England – in order to enhance services and facilities for patients and the working environment for staff, and to support research for the ultimate benefit of patients.”
Its annual expenditure is derived from fundraising activities, donations and investments.
Grants are channelled into four core areas:
- Providing state-of-the-art equipment and technology
- Improving the hospital environment
- Supporting the welfare of patients and staff
- Funding research and the development of pioneering new treatments
Working with other NHS fundraising bodies, NHS Foundation Trusts and dedicated professional investment managers, the charity is committed to good governance and its activities are overseen by an unpaid Board of Trustees.
