Patient information

The service is run in the Dental Institute on behalf of the Local Primary Care Trust.

This is a fee-paying service where normal NHS charges apply. Proof of exemption must be provided for patients who are exempt.

Opening Hours

Please note there is no access to this out of hours service with out first telephoning the SELDOC triage service on 020 8299 5509 (Monday - Friday 6.00pm - 11.00pm and 9.00am - 12.00pm Weekends and Bank Holidays)

You will then be directed to an appropriate dental service either at King's or at a dentist near you.

The opening hours are as follows:

Monday - Sunday      8.00pm - 10.00pm

Patients from Lambeth, Southwark & Lewisham should note that attendance at the clinic is for a one-off emergency visit to relieve pain. They are then advised to return to their own dentist - or find a dentist for which help will be given - to continue treatment.  A small number of patients whose treatment needs are ‘routine’ may be accepted for care by our trainees.  This restriction does not apply to patients from other areas.

For information on finding a dentist please call NHS Direct. It also provides information to patients who need emergency/general dental advice or treatment.
