Cardiothoracic surgery

What we do

We perform coronary bypass surgery for blockages in the arteries of the heart. We use this to treat patients with angina or who have a history of heart attackes. We perform beating heart bypass surgery as well as minimally invasive 'keyhole' surgery in apropriate cases.

We also repair or replace faulty heart valves. Our service for the repair of leaky mitral valves has excellent results and we pride ourselves on our high rates of success.

We carry out abnormal main blood vessel (aortic) surgery for dilatation, aneurysm or tears.

We perform thoracic surgery for lung tumours. Our programme of percutaneous keyhole aortic valve replacement has also been highly successful.
