Wards G - I
Norovirus Visiting Restrictions: To help prevent the spread of norovirus in the hospital please stay at home if:
- You have had symptoms of diarrhoea and/or vomiting (do not visit until 48 hours after they have cleared)
- You are aged 16 and under (except in exceptional circumstances)
All wards provide single-sex accommodation, bathroom and toilet facilities and all patients admitted to wards are first screened for MRSA.
Flowers are not allowed on any wards due to infection control issues. Please do not bring in valuable items (eg laptops, mobile phones, jewellery) or large sums of money. If you must bring them with you then please keep them with you at all times. The Trust cannot accept liability for the loss of items. Please read our section on security for more advice on how to keep your valuables safe.

Guthrie Ward has 21 single rooms and provides care and treatment for international and private patients. Patient facilities include phone, fax and Freeview and Sky TV. Flowers are allowed on this ward.
It is part of the Guthrie Wing, which was named to commemorate the successful flight of Giles Guthrie in the Portsmouth-Johannesburg air race of 1936.
There is no restricted mealtime.
