We’re currently raising £400,000 to help purchase equipment for the Variety Club Children’s Hospital at King’s.
The children’s hospital opened in 1985 supported by a generous donation from the Variety Club of Great Britain and its services are nationally renowned, serving families not only from the south east of London but from all over the country and beyond.
- King’s provides the largest children’s Liver Service in the world
- King’s is a specialist children’s centre for Cystic Fibrosis, Brain Surgery and Asthma
- King’s has one of the largest centres in Europe for treating Sickle Cell Disease
- King’s is a specialist centre for children with Diabetes and growth problems
In 2004 King’s embarked on a £8 million project to create a modern, state of the art environment which supports and reflects its ambitious programme of innovation and change to bring the Variety Club Children’s Hospital into the 21st Century. This programme includes:
Although the NHS funds King’s to provide first rate medical treatment, there is always a need for extra money that will help us give an even better service. The Silver Lining Appeal was created to run along side this refurbishment project to help raise funds to purchase medical equipment for these new wards.
