Volunteering at King's

Some of our volunteers are A level students intending to study medicine later, others are would-be nurses or other health-care professionals who want experience of being in a hospital environment. Parents with children at school and people who are unemployed or considering a career change volunteer for social contact or for something to put on a CV at a later date. Retired people offer us the benefit of their new-found time and energy and all the work-related and people skills they have accumulated over the years. Some of our volunteers just wish to say "thank you" for care they (or someone dear to them) have received from us or another part of the NHS.

All our volunteers are involved in non-clinical aspects of patient care, and are dedicated to making the environment a little friendlier and more comfortable for our patients and their visitors.
